Organizations and projects

Organizations hold your people, projects hold your Domain Contexts and repositories. Here is how the two fit together, and where to manage each.

The organization bar

At organization level the top bar carries an organization selector, an All Projects filter, and three entries: Members, Billing and Organization settings.

You can hold several organizations on one account and switch between them from the selector. Forge also offers a personal workspace alongside them.

Organizations can be renamed and deleted from the organization settings.

The Contextualized Projects list

The organization home lists your projects with a search box and + Create New Project.

Each project card shows its namespace and name, when it was last updated, and how many Domain Contexts it holds.

Creating a project

In the Contextualized Projects section, click + Create New Project.

Then create a Domain Context inside it, give it the documents it should be built from, and link the project in Forge to map your code. A project can bring several repositories together.

The project dashboard

Opening a project lands you on its dashboard, which lists its Contexts and offers + Create New Context.

The project bar

Alongside the breadcrumb, the project bar gives direct access to Members, Statistics, Project settings, Forge plugin Settings and Share.

Project settings

Open Project settings from the project bar. Two sections: General and Service Connections.

General holds:

Save Project applies changes.

Tabs

Fusion keeps Domain Contexts open in closable tabs along the top bar, next to the home icon, the way an editor does. Work across several domains without losing your place in any of them.

Tabs survive a disconnection: log back in and your open Domain Contexts are still there.

Deleting a project

In Project settings, General, the Danger Zone holds Delete Project. You type the project name to confirm, and deletion is permanent.

A project can only be deleted once all of its Domain Contexts are gone. If any remain, the confirmation is refused. Delete them first, from each Domain Context's own configuration.

Teams

Teams group the members of an organization. Every invitation names one, so a person joins a team rather than the organization directly. Membership stays organized as it grows.

Forge uses them too: linking a project asks for your team, then the project, then the repository.

Manage Teams on the Members screen is where you create and edit them.

Members and roles

Members at organization level lists who belongs to the organization, with Manage Teams and + Invite Member.

An invitation asks for three things: an email address, a team, and one or more roles.

Roles are permissions granted per resource type rather than a single rank, and several can be combined on the same person. The organization roles are:
